Es arbeitet mit optischen Splittern, die \u00fcber keine elektrischen Vermittlungsfunktionen verf\u00fcgen. Passive optische Netze sind im Bereich zwischen Vermittlungsstelle und Teilnehmeranschluss f\u00fcr Gigabit-Glasfaseranschl\u00fcsse installiert. Sie funktionieren als Zugangsnetze f\u00fcr die Teilnehmer zum weltweiten Daten- und Kommunikationsnetz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Man unterscheidet zwischen passiven optischen Netzen, die auf einer Punkt-zu-Punkt-Architektur und einer Punkt-zu-Mehrpunkt-Architektur basieren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die Abk\u00fcrzung PON f\u00fcr Passive Optical Networks (Passive optische Netze) hat sich als Synonym f\u00fcr PtMP-Topologien entwickelt, obwohl z. B. PtP-Ethernet auch ein passives optisches Netz ist. Das hei\u00dft, wenn von PON die Rede ist, dann ist damit ein passives optisches Netz mit PtMP-Topologie gemeint.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PtP &#8211; Point-to-Point<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2917\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tarluz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/point-to-point-p2p-network.jpg\" alt=\"point-to-point-p2p-network\" width=\"1066\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bei einer Punkt-zu-Punkt-Architektur hat jeder Teilnehmer von der Vermittlungsstelle (OLT) aus gesehen seine eigene Glasfaser, die bei ihm in der Wohnung oder im Einfamilienhaus endet. Weil f\u00fcr jeden Teilnehmer eine eigene Glasfaser verlegt ist, l\u00e4sst sich Leitung und Dienst f\u00fcr jeden Teilnehmer entb\u00fcndeln. Somit ist eine PtP-Topologie technologieunabh\u00e4ngig. Jeder Teilnehmer kann auf seiner Glasfaser einen anderen Anbieter w\u00e4hlen und der seine eigene Technologie. Auch ein sp\u00e4teres Aufr\u00fcsten gestaltet sich einfach. Mit PtP k\u00f6nnen die Anbieter flexibler auf die Bedarfsentwicklung der Kunden reagieren.<br \/>\nEin Nachteil ist die hohe Anzahl an Ports in den Netzknoten. Denn jeder Teilnehmer hat seine eigene Glasfaser, die gespeist werden muss. Daf\u00fcr braucht man Platz im Splitter und auch inder Vermittlungsstelle (OLT).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PtMP &#8211; Point-to-Multipoint<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2919\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tarluz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/P2MP-PON-Topology-1.jpg\" alt=\"p2mp-pon-topology\" width=\"1037\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bei einer Punkt-zu-Mehrpunkt-Architektur hat jeder Teilnehmer seine eigene Glasfaser, aber nur bis zum n\u00e4chsten Kabelverzweiger. Dort befindet sich ein passiver optischer Splitter, der das Signal von einer Glasfaser aus der Vermittlungsstelle (OLT), auf alle Teilnehmerglasfasern aufteilt. Der Vorteil, f\u00fcr PON (PtMP) braucht man weniger Ports in der Vermittlungsstelle und damit weniger Platz- und Energiebedarf f\u00fcr Switches. In einem PON-Netz ist daf\u00fcr das Entb\u00fcndeln von Leitung und Dienst schwieriger, weil sich hier mehrere Teilnehmer eine Leitung teilen.
