1. What is Base-16 Fiber?
\nBase-16 fiber mainly means 16x fiber cores in a tube and can be single or ribbonized. it can be terminated by high-density MPO, MTP connector, LC connector, or VSFF connectors such as SN, MDC, or CS, the fiber can be single mode or multimode fiber, from OM3, OM4 to OM5. The 16x fiber consists of 8x fiber for transmission and 8x fiber for receiving.<\/p>\n

2. What is the difference among Base-16, Base-8, and Base-12?
\nBase-8 and Base-12 are mainly used as trunks in the data center network, normally terminated as PC interface for multimode fiber, and APC interface for single mode fiber, while for Base-16 connector, it will be terminated as APC interface for both single mode fiber and multimode fiber, one other main difference is also the key, while Base-8 and Base-12 with key in the middle of the connector, while Base-16 is in the side.<\/p>\n
