Introduction to 800G OSFP SR8

With the continuous development of AI and big data technologies, the demand for 800G optical transceiver modules in data centers and communication networks is constantly increasing. Among them, the 800G OSFP SR8 utilizes an 8-channel full-duplex transceiver design, capable of meeting the requirements of short-reach data center and cloud computing networks, offering high cost-effectiveness and scalability.

The 800G OSFP SR8 optical module employs 8-channel 850nm VCSEL transmitters, using PAM4 modulation format to achieve a transmission and reception rate of 8×106.25Gbps. It utilizes a 12-fiber multimode (Dual MTP/MPO-12) fiber jumper for short-distance connections, achieving a transmission distance of up to 30m with OM3 jumpers and 50m with OM4 jumpers.

The 800G OSFP SR8 optical module is designed for data center internal interconnect scenarios, covering transmission distances within 30m (@OM3) / 50m (@OM4). Due to its short transmission distance, it has relatively lower manufacturing costs, making it more suitable for interconnect architectures within and between racks. Interface Type: The 800G OSFP SR8 optical module uses MPO-16 or Dual MPO-12 optical interfaces, enabling high-density and highly reliable fiber connections.
